Ryan Shober brought home the go-ahead run to give the Eau Claire Express (24-41) the lead in the sixth inning, as the Eau Claire Express hung on to beat the Green Bay Bullfrogs (32-33) 5-2 on Tuesday. Tony Vocca
singled to start the sixth. He then went from first to third on an RBI single by Blake Schmit
. Finally, Shober came to the plate with the Eau Claire Express trailing by one, and singled, bringing home Vocca and Schmit.
Sean Renzi looked sharp on the mound. The Green Bay Bullfrogs managed just one hit off of Renzi, who allowed no earned runs, walked eight and struck out five during his four innings of work.
David Borchardt improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Eau Claire Express. He allowed two runs over four innings. Borchardt struck out three, walked two and gave up three hits.
Matthew Roberts ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
