Banks started every game for the Penguins in 2011. He batted .293, which was the second highest batting average on the team. Banks blasted three home runs and drove in a team high 23 run. He also struck out the least number of times of any Penguin. Jeremy hit over .300 in his first two seasons as a Penguin. He hit five homers in 2010. Banks has shown a tendency to conclude seasons in dynamic fashion. He tallied a hit in 19 of his last 21 games as a sophomore. Jeremy ended his freshman year with an 11 game hitting streak. Banks batted .439 during the streak. He also drove in 18 runs and scored 13 times during that span. Banks was named First Team All- Ohio Division II in his senior season of high school. He also earned the Ohio Valley Conference Class AAAA Player of the Year award. Credit these accomplishments to his incredible .590 average and 35 RBIs. A standout athlete, Banks also excelled in football winning awards as a Tight End and Linebacker. His brother Justin ranks among the top five for the Penguins in hits, RBIs, and doubles.
