Bryan returns for his second stint with River Bats. Last year, he batted .211 in 16 games. Peters earned the right to start at second base for the Huskers as a freshman and looks to be a four year starter in the middle infield. As of May 15th Peters had started every game for teh Huskers in 2011. he hit .273 with 2 homers and 30 RBIs in the first 55 games of 2011. He stole 12 bases in his sophomore season.As a freshman, Bryan hit .268 and stole seven bases. He impressed fans down the stretch with a .350 batting average in his final five contests. Bryan dominated the Texas Collegiate League last summer with a .356 average for the East Texas PumpJacks. He homered and brought home seven runs in just 19 games. Bryan is a true athlete. He won Colorado the 2008-2009 Gatorade player of the Year Award for both football and baseball. Painfully, Peters led the Cornhuskers in being hit by pitches last season. He was plunked 18 times as a freshman.
