Playing his home games in perhaps the most difficult ballpark for batters in the Pacific-10 Conference, Mitch batted .224 in 48 games for the Ducks in the Oregon baseball program’s first season since being downgraded to a club sport in 1982. Mitch helped the Ducks to announce their return to Division I baseball with victories over conference foes and baseball power houses such as Oregon State and Stanford. Four total Ducks will become Honkers this summer, and Mitch will get to catch his teammates Riley Bevil and Scott McGough. His father, Rusty, played college football for Fresno State. Mitch will also be one seven Honkers players from California this summer.
