In his first season at Virginia this year Fisher was a standout on one of the most talented collegiate outfields in the country. This season he started 53 games for the Cavaliers, hitting .288 with 50 RBIs and seven home runs. Before joining the Cavaliers for his debut season of collegiate baseball Fisher was one of the top high school prospects in the nation. Baseball America rated him as the 9th best prospect in the United States, while Perfect Game rated him 14th. Fisher was an All-State honoree in Pennsylvania and was named the Pennsylvania state player of the year in 2011. The Rexmont, PA native was selected by the Texas Rangers in the 6th round of the 2011 MLB amateur draft out of high school.
