Matt was a late addition to the Bombers' roster, but will be very important to the team's success. The California native was drafted in the 39th round of the First Year Player Draft by the Tampa Bay Rays, but elected to play summer ball and get another year of experience before turning pro. Matt hit .359 last season for the Golden Eagles, with 7 home runs, 41 RBI, and a .590 slugging percentage. Matt was raised in a sports environment, his father played 7 years in the NFL and his mother played volleyball at UCLA. Matt is majoring in Communications, and enjoys fishing and surfing on his off days.
